Solar power
Solar power from the roof
Since 2016, we have been producing sustainably in our factory using “Frutiger solar power”. Photovoltaic cells on our roof make it possible.
Respect
Since the sustainable use of raw materials and energy is important to us, we are very pleased about
our own small “solar power plant”.
Sustainability is our core value. We have deep respect for nature and the environment. We try to include environmental considerations in all decisions and changes. So it was clear to us that when we built our new company headquarters in 2016, we wanted to generate electricity from our own source. This was made possible thanks to an in-house photovoltaic system on the roof. A photovoltaic system is the direct conversion of sunlight into electrical energy using solar cells. And since we enjoy many warm, sunny days in our beautiful mountain valley in Frutigen in summer and winter, we not only source many of our raw materials from the region with short transport routes, but also solar power. Good things are so close, so why look far away?
Facts and figures
In the first six months after moving into the new building, our photovoltaic system had already produced 8,650 kilowatt hours of electricity. In the following years, this result was far exceeded. We are currently at an impressive 15,010 kilowatt hours of electricity per year (as of 2021). With our photovoltaic system, we have taken another step towards an ever more sustainable production of our natural products. We will continue to try to improve step by step in the future.
